Fellowships

For a Plastic Surgeon the face heralds many challenges. It is an area of anatomical diversity, which demands thorough knowledge and precise surgical skills. To achieve predictable results on a consistent and high level, these skills need to be combined with sound judgment based on experience.

In 2006 Dr van der Meulen initiated the Dutch Society for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, with the purpose of providing a structure where young plastic surgeons could benefit from the experience of well-established experts in the field. Since then many have passed though this system, in what, by now, has grown into a worldwide structure of hospitals joining forces to train and educate fellow surgeons in this exciting field of Plastic Surgery.
